If there’s one trend that has emerged this summer from the catwalks and hit the high street is polka dots. Paula squeezed herself into a sexy but mostly girly polka dot dress for the second round in Miami, which she accented with a black belt and necklace. Since spots can be classed as part of the nautical trend you will find lots of spots in navy, black and white and coming in a variety of styles. If you remember it was Cheryl Cole who was first ‘spotted’ in polka dots in Chicago? She wore a white polka dot shift dress by Sonia Rykiel retailing at 304 GBP or 486 USD and a pair of t-strap spotted Marc Jacobs wedges retailing at 395 GBP or 631 USD which in my view were slightly overkill in creating the overall look. What I think is great about the polka dot dress Paula is wearing is the way it has been accesorised. I love the chunky gold Egyptian bracelet, the black & gold belt that fits perfectly with her black Louboutin heels. The overall look is fun & girly but also has an air of ‘I can kick ass’ when I need to – I can see a lot of Fashion Editor’s I know wearing this look to work. If you want to recreate Paula’s look there are hundreds of spotted dresses on the high street, I really like this Tiered Spotted Dress from Jaeger which was 330 GBP or 527 USD to 199 GBP or 317 USD. Like Paula pair with gold accessories and perhaps tan sandals for the day time and killer black heels in the evening.
